" I had been fed up with dating apps but still looking to put myself out there and wanted to be social. So I joined the Christian Singles group expecting it to be an alternative to dating apps and originally thrilled to discover there was a free matchmaking database. Over time, as I started getting more involved I was pleasantly surprised to learn this community was more than just a dating site, instead an all encompassing community for all aspects of life. I was blown away by all of the topics, events, podcasts, prayer groups, etc. it offered. There has literally been something for everyone to get involved and stay connected and make friends for a lifetime. " The Hub has been an answer to prayer. Where I live I don’t have many unmarried friends, as my single friends typically live quite a distance away. For awhile I had been desiring more community with other likeminded, Godly singles, but I wasn’t sure where to find that. The Lord led me to this “Singles Hub”. It was there that I heard about Michelle Apples and the community which intrigued me, and I thought I would give it a try. I joined a year ago, and Wow, it has been more wonderful than I could have imagined. I have met a bunch of committed, Christian singles, and made a whole new circle of friends. " I have very much enjoyed being part of the Christian Singles Hub. Joining the Hub has provided an outlet for me to encourage fellow believers, which has been an especially great blessing in light of the isolation of the COVID lockdowns. "It’s fall of 2021 and I was in search of community with people who were in a similar stage of life. I was scrolling through my Instagram stories and I saw a post for The Christian Singles Hub. I previewed the site and within that day I had subscribed to the platform. A month or so later, I saw a post about a retreat in Canada..I signed immediately up! You see, when I did this, I didn’t know one single person….no one..I just took the leap! I mean what is the worse that can happen! Over the next several months, I participated in a few events but was more of an observer member. The retreat in Canada was the pivotal moment for me. It was at this moment that friendships fostered, community had been found & my faith was being deepened. This was just the beginning! The weekend retreat was a life-changing experience for me and it’s a weekend I will always remember. It was such a powerful time where God showed up and I saw Him speak to me through the worship time and the time of sharing among others. I was touched by other’s stories and how I could relate to them and their struggles and victories. The last night, I also received prayer God heal me from some of the physical chronic back pain I had been experiencing prior to walking into the retreat. It was a powerful time of prayer and communion and laying things before the Lord and watching Him heal bodies, minds, and hearts. It was one of the best weekends I think I have ever had and I will always remember the takeaways and blessings it brought me and the amazing godly community I now have as a result of the weekend retreat. I highly recommend coming to any retreats and events as you will walk away with feeling more like a family with people who were strangers walking in and you can see God at work which is such a beautiful thing.

This was my first solo trip. For the last couple of years God has really been challenging me to get out my comfort zone. I was interested in the retreat when I heard about it, but I didn't think it was possible for me to go, it just felt like there were too many things to overcome even beyond my own fears. But God assured me I was going. He met me where I was at. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect, but everyone was so welcoming. I loved that the activities made it easy to connect with each other instead of it feeling awkward, and even though as an introvert I thought I might have to force myself to participate it didn't feel forced at all. On Saturday evening I received prayer, part of which was over my identity in Christ and for my healing. I enjoyed every minute of the retreat and I didn't want it to end. When my uncle picked me up at the airport, he didn't recognize me. At the time I thought it was because I was wearing my glasses, but God revealed me later that I was carrying myself differently. I know that God used my yes to change me and start to build a new confidence in me, and to show me that with Him I truly can do anything, even if it feels impossible. I now know for certain that when God tells me something is going to happen, it will. If you're feeling like you want to attend a retreat and that God is saying to, give Him you're yes even if its out of your comfort zone and just watch what He will do with it. Michelle and Douglas are truly doing God's work for singles and I can't wait to see what He does through them next.

"Summer Camp 2023 exceeded my expectations by a landslide! It was so amazing to be surrounded by Christians who are in the same season of life. It’s the first time I’ve really belonged as a single in a few years. The lodging was great. Very clean and so nice for a camp. I had really great roommates. The food the staff at the site cooked was delicious and not comparable to typical summer camp food. The activities offered were so fun. The worship nights were so filled with the Spirit. The decades party was the perfect night of fun and karaoke as a sendoff. I definitely walked away with new friends and a cup that runneth over!"

"Up until I stepped foot into my assigned room at the Lodge, I was anxious as to what type of questions other people would ask me besides my name. All my fears were put to rest by dinner time. Of course, there will always be awkwardness when meeting new people, but being in the same room with people that have the same beliefs as I did and also in a similar walk in life was an experience I've never really had. I'm usually with another person at similar events in the past, but I decided to go to this camp alone. Not once did I feel alone throughout the whole five days! From the planned events, meal times, and free time, there was no need to look for something to do. It was also great that everything was all inclusive, we didn't really have to go anywhere beyond the lodge. I absolutely would attend another event, given the opportunity. Thank you for giving me a picture of what Christian singles can do and accomplish in 5 days. I was blessed by the fellowship among God-fearing men and women and super excited to see where God will lead this community!"

"I came to summer camp not sure what to expect, but with an open mind and heart to see what God had in store, and worst case scenario at least I'd have a lot of fun. Both God and the Singles Hub delivered far more than expected! (isn't that his way?) . We met people from a dozen or more states, were encouraged in our singleness, bolstered in our confidence, and we got to play like kids again if only for a moment 🙂 . It was good clean fun, an amazing alternative to a different kind of retreat or vacation, and overall I'd highly recommend folks simply clear their expectations and calendar and just give it a try, God always deliver on his promises."
