You know the saying when the clock strikes midnight and all the sudden it’s a “New Year, New You”
But you were created in the image of God, which means you are exactly who you are supposed to be… but that doesn’t mean we can’t take steps to improve ourselves, our lives, and make 2023 the best year yet!
Here are 8 ways you can make this the best year ever!
1.) This will be your best year ever, if it’s your best year. SPIRITUALLY. Being spiritually healthy is your foundation for everything else.
2.) Submit & Surrender I’m sure your resolutions are gonna be great… but did you ask god what HE plans for your 2023?? What you accomplish in the flesh you will have to maintain in the flesh, but what you accomplish in the spirit, there will be a grace for it.
3.) Your life is heading in the direction of your strongest thoughts. Head to our IG HERE to find 8 ways to renew your mind. As someone who works with singles I see it all the time: bad attitudes, negative thinking, and allowing feelings to dictate your life. Thoughts become things and if you want something to change then you need to take the steps to change it.
4.) The grass isn’t greener on the other side, the grass is greener where you water it Go out and live your life. This doesn’t mean don’t desire marriage, pray for it, or prepare for it – it simply means stop putting every ounce of yourself into the fact that you don’t have a spouse and start living your life now. 99% of the married people I talk to say the same thing “I wish I didn’t dwell so much on the fact I was single and actually went out and enjoyed it more”. Once you get married *hopefully* you will never have another single season.
5.) Your Body is On Loan Don’t wait until something happens to start taking care of yourself. The bible says to be prepared in and out of season, that our body is a living vessel to be used for the Glory of God and that our bodies are actually on loan. Make the time, put in the effort, seek accountability if you need it to make healthy living a priority this year.
6.) Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Proverbs tells us to get wisdom and just how valuable it is. Use 2023 to learn, to grow, to evolve. Read, Seek Mentors, Take Courses, Hire a Coach – it’s valuable to seek wisdom because “wisdom is better than refined gold and better than precious stones, and nothing compares to it.”
7.) Sabbath We were called human beings not human doings. I recently started reading the book “the ruthless elimination of hurry” by John Mark Comer and it’s already taught me so much. I mean the bible literally made it a commandment to “Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy” – which in retrospect is pretty crazy if you compare this one to the rest of the commandments, but for that reason alone it shows just how much God values rest – even He rested on the 7th day.
8.) Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Isaiah 43:9 An important part of embracing the New is letting go of the past and moving forward in faith. Sometimes, we can become so focused on what’s happened before—past mistakes, disappointments or what someone else has done to us—that we fail to focus on the good things God wants to do for us now and in the future.
