Faith Without Works Is Dead

Faith Without Works Is Dead

When we meet someone that we think we are interested in we often want these miraculous signs and wonders that this is the person God has for us, but rarely does it ever happen this way.

God does not reject human free will and God doesn’t force things. He may give signs, He may lead, but the end of the day faith without works is dead and he allows us choice to choose the way which is what makes Him such a loving father is He doesn’t force our hand.

Relationship are a choice – you can have all the signs, confirmations and miracles but you still need to move in faith. Faith requires active participation because faith without works is dead (James 2:26). That means that we need to move. Maybe that requires praying and asking God for direction, but then actually going on a date, or downloading that dating app, or putting yourself out there in new environment’s.

It’s not about finding the one, there is no one perfect person out there for everyone. There are many possibilities out there and YOU get to choose the best one for the role of spouse. You can pray and I encourage you to pray, ask for wisdom, discernment, and your eyes to be open, but we also must remember that the bible clearly states that Faith Without Works Is Dead

I know in my life that I was scared to settle down with one person because well what if my picker was off?, and what if there was something better out there for me? And at this point in my life I am glad that I waited (because my picker was indeed off), but when you find someone who makes your life better with them in it then without then it’s your job to create the marriage you desire with someone who makes you better.

I suggest asking yourself three questions when choosing a life partner.

#1 Is the presence of Jesus in this relationship?
#2 Does this person make me a better version of myself?
#3 Would Jesus be pleased with this relationship

If you answered yes to all three of these questions then the choice is yours. You get to use the wisdom God gifts you to choose who you want as your spouse. Pray, ask For discernment and than walk it out knowing that faith without works is dead and if you are truly honouring God in the process, He will lead you in a different direction if that is not the way you should go.

When looking for a life partner you have to remember that we all fall short, not one of us is perfect, we all have past experiences, things we have dealt with and things we struggle with. Perfection isn’t attainable and fairy tales have lied about happily ever after, but what you are looking for is someone who you can solve problems with, encourage, walk through hard times with, grieve with, celebrate milestones and successes and deal with anything else this crazy life throws our way.

God knows what we need, and He is gracious that He will show us where to go, direct our paths, but He wants us to partner with him in the process, hand in hand. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there (if that is what God is saying to do), but include Him in the conversation. He wants to partner with you. Faith Without Works Is Dead! so walk in faith and see what He has in store with you.
