Recently I’ve been watching lion documentaries. Why? Don’t fully know, but these animals have fascinated me with their habits. How God made them instinctual or how they work together in packs, especially when hunting and feeding their pride.
How does this relate to us? I got an interesting revelation while watching a particular episode. I’ll spare you the brutal details, but when lions hunt buffalo, there’s a strategy. While the female lionesses are lighter and quicker, they need the males to assist them in taking down the buffalo, or anything else larger for the pack to eat.
How does it work? Once the females have the buffalo surrounded, the male jumps on top of it and uses his full weight to pin him down. Once he’s down, it’s over. Without the male, the females can only do so much. God did not create them to carry the full weight themselves, and the male needs her to continue the legacy of the pride. My point? God made them for each other.
Though the differences between humans and animals are different, both genders have gifts, talents, and abilities that make a difference in the world. Using these gifts in the right way can bring glory to God. We’re made in His image, possessing his mind, soul, and spiritual attributes. When a man and a woman come together in the sight of God in marriage and they’re working in purpose, it preaches the Gospel without uttering a word.
Ever hear, “why are all men like this?” Or “why do all Christian girls do this?” It’s usually tied to a negative experience. Women are tired of the men they meet playing with their hearts, while men are tired of women having unrealistic expectations and putting it on them. I’m here to encourage you that not all men and women are the same. Even if you’ve had awful experiences, it doesn’t mean the entire world is tainted. Let’s not generalize. There are people out there of both sexes pursuing the Lord wholeheartedly. They want His name made great on the earth!
Why the confusion in dating? Why the lawlessness we see in the world? The enemy is attacking the home. Broken adults raise broken children, and the cycle perpetuates. Don’t believe me? Read the story of the Israelites and how each generation born grew further away from God. Though the Bible says the enemy comes as a roaring lion, he’s all roar. Who has the real roar along with the power? Jesus, the lion of the tribe of Judah. I hear the song lyrics even now, “let the lion roar!”
Ladies, when you encounter a man that gives you the runaround, intercede for him. I know you’re hurt and disappointed, but call out to God on his behalf. I know some of you are carrying a lot on your own, but that was never God’s intention. Just like the male lions step in to help the lionesses, God has men who will take their rightful places. Instead of saying, “they’re no more good men,” why not pray for heart change? You may want a husband, but he needs Jesus first.
Men, instead of complaining about Christian girls, pray for them. They’ve been hurt, just like you. She put her heart on the line, just like you. It’s not easy, but trust God has daughters who love Him. She won’t use you to get ahead or think you’re her meal ticket. She exists, and she’s far more precious than rubies. Don’t buy into the lies of the enemy and settle for less than God’s best.
We’re rarely aware that we’re under attack as believers, but we are. The enemy doesn’t want unity. He doesn’t want whole singles, and he sure doesn’t want kingdom marriages. So, he causes confusion and seeks to tire us out with fruitless dating relationships. He wants bitterness and resentment to kick in so we’ll stop trusting God altogether.
Don’t stop trusting God, my friends. Though the attacks never end, we still have the upper hand. We have the blood of Jesus. We’re covered. He says we will win, so that’s that! The enemy can imitate all day long, but the real lion is on our side.
