Single During The Holidays

Single During The Holidays

Majority of Singles hate being alone around the holidays and walking into the New Year, but the holidays will only be as fun as you make it in your current season. If you are single during the holidays remember you have a choice to love or hate the holidays. Here are some ways that you can thrive as a single during the holidays.

#1. Change your mindset.

I think we are all guilty of complaining to our friends when we don’t like our current “single” status. The only person in the world you can control is yourself. Changing your perspective is the key to being content in your current single season. If you are currently looking for a relationship by being content alone and changing your perspective you actually begin attracting the right person rather than the wrong one. If you are single during the holidays, shift your perspective from hating the season to embracing the holiday season.

#2. Love being alone.

Enjoying your alone time will ensure you’re in a relationship for the right reasons, and that you won’t settle for less than you want and deserve in order to stop being alone. Be so in love with your own life that you’d rather be in a happy relationship with yourself than a toxic relationship with anyone else. Single During The Holidays, do fun things solo, romanticize your own life – go to eat, head to a Christmas play, go look at lights alone and smile, and watch all the Christmas movies you can.

3. Date Yourself

Date yourself and take yourself to dinner, read great books, stroll down to that little cafe down the street and read a book while sipping on your latte. When you show up for yourself first and enjoy your time alone, adding someone in will be a treat not a need. It will also help you enjoy them more when they come and they will be there to compliment your life not complete it. Single During The Holidays. enjoy the festiveness of the holidays and date yourself.

3. Find the little joys

For so long I had to ask myself what do I actually enjoy? What are the little joys in my life, and then go and do them. This helps that when you do find a partner you are still an individual rather than “just” a couple. Being an individual first helps you to have your own identity rather than create an identity around someone else.

4. Work on your goals

If you have things you are working to achieve it helps you to focus on being better tomorrow than you were yesterday. It helps you to have a vision for where you are going and to not completely rely on someone else to fulfil that vision in your life. Single During The Holidays, look towards the New Year and see what you want to accomplish for the year ahead. Set goals and than pray into them.

5. Attitude of Gratitude

Any relationship expert will tell you that gratitude is a fundamental for a healthy relationship. In order to keep seeing the glass half full in your relationship make it a habit to wake up every day and think of three things you’re grateful for. Write them down + reflect back on moments you are feeling discourages.

6. Write a list of 30 things you want to accomplish in your life.

When you are focused on things you want to achieve, your mind will be so distracted that you will forget you were even looking for someone until they end up walking alongside you. If you are single during the holidays, Make a bucket list of all the things you would love to do in your life.

7. Alignment is more important than assignment

worry less about WHAT you’re doing & focus more on the WHY. When you are doing things for the right reason you are much more likely to attract those things in your life, so if you are focused on getting a partner out of desperation and loneliness chances are the wrong person will be attracted to your life.

8. Create Intention

Create an intention by asking yourself what kind of person you want to be, how you want to show up and what you can do to become a better person so that you are attracting the best possible person to your life.

9. Travel

Single During The Holidays, Go places you have never been, meet people you don’t know and explore. You learn so much about yourself when you get out of your comfort zone plus when you settle down with someone it isn’t as easy to just jump on a plane and go.

10. Find Community

They say it takes a village and they are right. Choose friends who want to see you succeed + aren’t intimidated but inspired + illuminated by how bright you shine. The friends who cheer you on, who encourage your dreams, who champion you + your ideas, and always check in on you along the way.
