Recently God spoke to me about the season I am in. As we came to the end of 2021, I remembered thinking that I felt beaten up. It was a challenging year for me- I had to face some hard things, do hard things, and have really hard conversations. God began to reveal to me that I was in was a diamond season.
Diamonds need external pressure to form. They are recovered through a 5-step process from mining to becoming the perfect diamond on your finger. The first step is crushing. Once the diamond, ore and gravel are collected, they are thrown into a primary crusher that reduces the size of the ore and gravel to manageable pieces. They are then thrown into a secondary crusher that crushes down the gravel to even smaller pieces.
God showed me that the crushers are the circumstances that He allowed me to go through- to shape and form me and help remove my impurities. The ore and gravel were toxic emotions, thoughts, behaviours, and habits I had developed over the years. They were not going to take me into my future, so God needed to remove them.
This means that all the hard things I experienced in 2021 were preparing me for what God had in my future. He needed me to experience those things to propel me forward.
Maybe you have felt the weight from many challenging situations and things coming your way in the last year? Perhaps you are feeling lots of pressure? I want to encourage you that this is your diamond season. God is refining you for something great. He’s removing the impurities so that he can bless you. It’s not easy to go through it, but it is worth it.
Some of you might be feeling raw from all the pressure you have been through. Remember that diamonds are more valuable in their raw state. Where you are right now, you are more valuable to God as He moulds you and shapes you into who He wants you to be.
“Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out.”– 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (TPT)
Remember that this is a season, and it too shall pass.
