Top 10 Pet Peeves In Dating

Here are The Top Ten Pet Peeves In Dating

I sat down and asked people around the world their pet peeves in dating.
Now you may not be surprised by some of these, but I personally couldn’t believe the number one pet peeve.

#10 Pet Peeves In Dating – Excessive Drinking – I know it may seem natural on a first date to have a cocktail or drink of wine but, you need to limit the amount of alcohol consumed. I have heard horror stories of people getting black out drunk, showing up wasted and I myself have experienced some interesting dates where alcohol was over consumed. You have to remember this is their first impression of you + they say first impressions last forever. As a Christian we are set apart.

#9 Pet Peeves In Dating – Being Late – I mean I get it we are all human, but it is so awkward to sit around waiting for someone on a first date. If you are going to be late (it happens) ensure you are communicating as soon as possible so they other person feels respected and that their time is being valued.

#8 Pet Peeves In Dating- Talking about Sex – Everywhere you look, everything you watch, everything you consume is all sexual images, but this is less than appropriate on a first date. They don’t even know if they like you yet and here you are asking personal things, or talking about something that is meant to be intimate. This is necessary to talk about when things get serious, but not appropriate until they do.

#7 Pet Peeves In Dating – When they don’t ask you a single question or constantly bring the conversation back to being about them On a first date you should make someone feel valued and that means asking them questions, listening intently, and ensuring that you are getting to know the person that is sitting in front of you.

#6 Pet Peeves In Dating – Bad Table Manners – You would think this is just common sense? But common sense lacks these days. If you aren’t sure about your table manners, go out with a friend or someone you trust and ask them to look out for any errors in your current dating habits because if you are blowing your nose at the table, shoving food into your face, chewing with your mouth open, making weird sounds, speaking with your mouth full, or picking your teeth at the table there is cause for concern.

#5 Pet Peeves In Dating – Guys who talk about Money/What they own/Name Dropping – Guys actually think that women like this. This automatically tells someone that this person is insecure, and feels the need to prove themselves to you. It usually shows that they have some deep rooted issues that are yet to deal with around self worth, insecurity, and worthiness.

#4 Pet Peeves In Dating – Complaining about your crazy Ex’s – The moment you call your ex crazy, or talk bad about someone else. #1 you are the company you keep, so what does that say about you? #2 What did you do to make them crazy? and #3 what are you saying about me behind my back? if someone is calling their ex’s crazy, don’t walk away RUN AWAY!!

#3 Pet Peeves In Dating – Bad Tippers – Generosity is our privilege. It is common courtesy to tip plus when you don’t a server is typically tipping out on your bill so they just paid for you to dine at the restaurant.

#2 Pet Peeves In Dating – Rude to wait staff – When you are rude to others it shows your character.

And the Number One Pet Peeve hands down voted across North America is

#1 Pet Peeves In Dating – Leaving your phone out on the table/ Answering your phone/ Being on your phone at all- It shows our time is not valuable, it shows you don’t care, it shows you are distracted. I am not talking about an emergency work call, or maybe your babysitter is trying to get a hold of you, or you need to check the time. Ensure you are communicating these things to the person in front of you so they feel valued, appreciated and like they aren’t wasting their time.
