The best way to start your Summer planning is to create a Summer bucket list to make sure you take time this Summer for fun, fellowship and to create memories that will last a lifetime. 1.) Farmers Market
There is nothing better than a Summer Farmer’s Market where you can stroll around and pick up fresh produce, homemade salsa’s, jams, local honey and so much more. Pick yourself up some fresh flowers to celebrate the blooming buds of the season.
2.) Go For Ice Cream & A Stroll
Nothing better than ice cream on a hot summer’s day. With new creameries popping up in cities near you like Molly Moon Ice Cream if you are in Seattle, Jeni’s (locations throughout the USA), Salt & Straw in Portland, Oregon, Fat Cat Creamery in Houston, Texas and so much more.

3.) Berry Picking
Berry Picking on a Summer’s Day and getting to frolic in the berry fields, say no more. Check out local berry picking and when they are in season.

Don’t have a favourite local spot? Why not create your own ice cream, and come up with some fun new flavours.
5.)Picnic
What’s better than a picnic in the park. Grab some charcuterie, and all the fixings and spend the day lounging in the park with your friends, date or solo with your favourite book in hand.
6.)Watch The Sunset
Their is something so beautiful about watching a sunset. Cotton candy skies and warm weather on a beautiful patio, is there anything better?
7.) BBQ on the beach
One of the most creative date I had when I was “dating” was someone invited me to the beach and brought a little bbq, grilled some food, drank some sparkling beverages, and we watched the sunset. It was inexpensive, but creative and really stood out to me.
8.) Hiking
If you are in an area with great hiking, a Saturday morning hike is a great way to start the weekend. Get a good sweat in, and move all before brunch. Hopefully there are some great views along the way.
9.) Outdoor Fitness Class
There is something so great about getting a sweat on and enjoying a workout outdoors. Bring a friend or date and challenge yourself before hitting up a brunch spot after.
10.) Beach Trip
If you are close to a body of water wether that is a beach, or a lake why not head there for a day of fun in the sun splashing in the water, sunbathing and floating on the water.
11.) Movie Marathon
Sunned Out? Or maybe you are sunburnt from all the other Summer activities and you just need a break, perhaps it’s time to throw a movie marathon. You could do a theme movie night like: Summer Classics, or Summer of 89 and pick movies based on those themes.

I love Outdoor Movie Nights. Check your city for local listings over the Summer and if none, then why not think about throwing your own. Amazon has inflatable outdoor screens and projectors have gotten significantly cheaper. There may be an opportunity to host your own outdoor movie in your own backyard with all your friends.
14.) Backyard BBQ
Nothing smells like summer quite like a backyard bbq. Bring the hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings and host a backyard bbq

Grab some games and challenge your friends to a games night with all your favs (my current fav’s are Skip Bo, Sky Joe, Phase Ten & Yahtzee)

I love stumbling upon some great live music. Depending where you are located, you should check the venues that host live music and when they host it. You just never know who may be discovered there 🙂
17.) Check Out Local Fireworks or Festivals
When I lived in Vancouver, BC I loved the Celebration of Lights which is a fireworks show that is held in the summer on three different nights. Different regions compete in the competitions. Thousands of people gather on English bay to enjoy. Once I moved to the USA I loved the 4th of July fireworks. Check out whats local to you and plan to attend a fireworks show.
18.) Visit A Botanical Garden
Check out a local botanical garden and discover new greenery you have never seen before.
19.) Visit A Museum
Check out a local museum nearby. Sometimes you can find unique museums like the bible museum, the 911 museum, international spy museum, potato museum, neon museum, UFO museum, SPAM museum and more.
