Space For Grace
One line that kept coming up for me back when I was dating was: Space for Grace.
Creating space for grace is so important when trying to navigate new dating relationships because you are two completely different people, with different backgrounds, and different experiences trying to now try to fit with each other.
You have to allow each other to change, to evolve, to learn, to grow and allowing the space for grace allows the relationship to strengthen organically while also allowing the person to be human and have flaws.
As I ponder what this means to have space for grace and how to implement it, I continually remind myself that grace comes from God so he should be my first response in any relationships.
Which means going to him when I don’t understand something or when I am frustrated, and I often find by doing this he reveals to me my own weaknesses and areas I need to improve rather than the faults I am trying to find in my partner.
2 Corinthians 8:7 is a great reminder for us all to offer space for grace in not only relationships but in all areas of our life. “But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.
