Ever received a DM via social media that wasn’t appropriate at all? Or you decide to put yourself out there on a dating app, only to be disappointed? They said “Christian” in their bio, but their actions proved different?
Whether you’re a single man or woman reading, it can be discouraging. You’re waiting for a Godly spouse and all you see is the opposite. You’ve only dated toxic people. All your poor experiences stem from men and women who weren’t Godly and now you’re wondering, “Does Godly exist anymore?”
I know you know this, but I’m reminding you, anyway. They exist! No matter what you’ve been through, they exist. Ladies, Godly men who’ll lead in integrity are out there. Men, there are women who’ll help you in your calling. They won’t drain the life out of you.
Ladies, the right man won’t pressure you to compromise your faith. I know they hurt you. They betrayed you. You got your hopes up only to feel foolish for trusting the wrong person. So what do you do? Do you give up thinking there’s nothing better?
I want to tell you something that freed me. “Heaven doesn’t have a shortage.” No matter what you’ve been praying for or how long you’ve waited, God is always in supply.
Why do we think that? We serve the God of the universe who provides for the birds of the air. The flowers that bloom each year and are never late. Why do we think He’ll shortchange us, His own children? Even if we don’t receive what we want in the timeframe we think, doesn’t His plan always work better in the long run?
I won’t lie and tell you that waiting is easy. There will be bumps and setbacks along the way, but God promises that He’ll be with us. Remember, as I mentioned last time? We’ve already received our reward with His son.
So don’t quit as you wait. Be willing to meet new people, realizing there will be those you’ll have to let go. Don’t worry about the ones that leave. God will bring those into your life meant for you.
Even when it feels like you’re losing, you’re not. Why? Because God says we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ.
We don’t think of this verse in dating or when looking for a spouse, but God’s given you victory in this area, too! He doesn’t provide for us partially. He does it all! So trust if it’s His will for you, it will happen.
