Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing

Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing #11 They Speak Highly Of Others “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29

I know we mentioned this verse in part one, but it’s so good had to mention it twice. Watch how they speak of others this will help you to also recognize if they are implementing number 5 up above.

Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing #12 They Are Patient And Slow To Anger

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. Ecclesiastes 7:8-9

Do they get angry easily? Especially in the beginning stages keep an eye on this. If they get angry in the season where they are putting their best foot forward, then what do you think will happen when you are years down the road?

Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing #13 They Are Humble

Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. (NIV)

Humility is a beautiful thing, and that doesn’t mean someone doesn’t have confidence but when someone has humility they know their gifts and every good thing comes from the Lord.

Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing #14 They Have Godly Mentors

Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counsellors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14

We all fall short of the glory of God so it’s important to have Godly council to help us on our walk, to keep us accountable, to stay planted and to remind us who we are and whose we are.

Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing #15 They Are Growth Minded

Isaiah 54:2-3 “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.”

Are they growing, evolving, becoming better today than they were yesterday? If only one person is growth minded, typically one person will get left behind.

Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing #16 They Are Content In The Season They Are Currently In

Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. God, not your marital status, defines your life.

If you are with someone who is trying to jump ahead to a preferred season, they may not be with you for the right reasons. Truly see the beauty where God has placed you and find someone who does the same.

You don’t want someone to complete you, when God already has.

Only let each person lead the life, that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. – 1 Corinthians 7:17

Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing #17 They Have Self Control -Proverbs 25:28 says “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.” if we don’t have self control during our time of singleness how are we supposed to have self control in marriage. Marriage exposes things, it doesn’t fix things.

Biblical Ways To Know Someone Is Worth Pursuing #18 They Get In The Word Daily

In 1 Peter 2:2 it says “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, …As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

We need the word as spiritual milk to grow and sustain us.
