I totally get it—waiting for what you desire can really test your patience and faith. Sometimes you’re praying so hard for that next chapter in your life that you forget to fully appreciate where you are now. Whether you’re holding out for a godly relationship, a career breakthrough, or just some sign that God is listening, the in-between can feel like a desert with no end.
But listen, we’ve all heard it before, haven’t we? That life is about the journey, not the destination. Pastor Mike Todd said it right in his sermon series, “Here is Holy.” The idea that “there” always turns into “here” is spot-on. Why? Because the blessings you’re seeking? They often find you when you’re engaged with the present.
The problem isn’t that you’re waiting. The problem is what you’re focusing on while you wait. Are you listening to that inner critic saying you’re unlovable or that something’s wrong with you? Kick those lies to the curb. You’re so much more than your doubts.
The real answers? They’re right in God’s presence. There’s a peace that comes from diving into His Word, a comfort that can’t be matched. I’m not saying your circumstances will change overnight, but your perspective will. Instead of letting the enemy taunt you with what you don’t have, soak up God’s Word like it’s your lifeline—because it is. It’s not a cliché. It’s your blueprint for navigating the highs and lows.
I recently listened to a sermon called “The Endless Chase”? That sermon nailed it too. When we focus on anything other than God, no wonder we feel stuck! Trends come and go. People change. But Jesus? He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. That’s a surefire anchor if I ever saw one.
It’s all about where you place your attention. Are you letting the world’s noise drown out Holy Spirit’s guidance? Remember, you’re on a journey crafted by a God who’s got plans to prosper you, not harm you.
So, are you ready to trust in His higher purpose for you? To find joy, even in the waiting? Stick close to God, keep your eyes on Him, and let that reassurance fill you up. You’re not just “killing time” till something better comes along. You’re in a sacred space of growth and alignment.
